How to Check for Updates

Note: these instructions are only for the OBD Ford module and OBD Dodge/Jeep/Ram module.

  1. Remove the Z-Flash from your vehicle’s OBD-II port
  2. Plug your Z-Flash into your computer using the provided USB cable
  3. Open the Z-Flash Software 
  4. Click “Update Device” below the Z-Flash logo
  5. A new window will appear, and click “Check for Updates” 
  6. This will contact the server to see if there are any updates available 
  7. Once you update or confirm that you have the latest version, click “Reset Settings”
  8. You can now close out the update window, close out the Z-Flash software, and disconnect your Z-Flash module from your computer
  9. Reinstall your Z-Flash into your vehicle’s OBD-II port.
